ATT

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION- Funding

ATT sincerely hope that in years to come all children diagnosed with ASD will have access to appropriate medical tests and treatments within the NHS. We have campaigned for several years on this subject but with limited success. We will continue to do so but until then we must charge for tests and treatments.

Please note that there will be no hidden fees. ATT believes we must be entirely open with parents from the very beginning. We are a not for profit organisation.

Until these treatments and biomedical testing are paid for by relevant governmental agencies, we would suggest to parents to seek additional financial support from other charities. The listed charities below have been very supportive to other families like yours:

Funding for Biomedical Treatments in autism: Testing and supplementation

Caudwell Charitable Trust http://www.caudwellchildren.com/ has been very supportive to our treatments and testing protocols and several parents have been successful in obtaining renewable grant covering fully the intervention proposed at ATT.

See enclosed application Pack.

Direct Payments: ‘A parent’s guide to direct payments’ is produced by the Council for Disabled Children and the Department of Health. Direct Payments are a way of arranging services for disabled children and their families. A person with parental responsibility for a disabled child is given money to pay for services instead of the local authority arranging them on their behalf. The guide has been written for people with parental responsibility for disabled children who are considering using direct payments to buy part or all of the services required by their child (including short breaks). Copies are available free of charge from Department for education and skills, quote ref. 31213/A Tel: 0845 602 22260 or to down load from www.teachernet.gov.uk.

Direct Payments can be used for Short break and Respite care, Day care placements, assistance to attend an activity, personal Care. We believe personal care could cover advice on education intervention and dietary modification.

Direct Payments should be arranged via your social worker.
