ATT’s engagement

ATT will provide the best possible advice on biomedical, medical, dietary and behavioural interventions in autism. The advices will cover issues such as the causes of symptoms, the appropriate tests to undertake, how to understand the laboratory test results, and the most suitable treatment to implement. Whenever possible, ATT will communicate our findings with your child’s GP and medical consultants. Communications with school or residential placements can also be arranged as needed. The information provided by us will be provided both orally and in writing. Report costs are included for the first, second and all progress consultations conducted with our Principal Scientist. Other consultations, involving our medical doctor or dietician will include reports at an extra charge, based on time required for completing the reports. ABA input includes the cost of a report, case notes and intervention programme. ATT will adjust treatments and its understanding of autism based on our assessment of feedback from parents and reports by professionals on interventions. ATT aims to remain independent from medical establishments and any commercial ventures except in the provision of supplements.

Parent’s engagement

You are free to consider our suggestions and do not have to follow our advice. However, we recommend that you allow a minimum of 3 months of intervention. The treatments we propose can be modified based on your child’s response and your preferences, as well as for the biomedical and behavioural profile. We suggest that you implement one step at a time, as will be detailed in our report, in order to clearly identify any gains and potential side effects. We recommend that you tell us of any additional tests that you undertake with the NHS or private practitioners and share the results with us; we can all gain from this additional information. We will arrange regular 2-3 months consultations; a follow up consultation will be booked by our clinic administrator after each consultation. Before a consultation takes place, please send us details of your child’s progress and the issues you want to bring to our attention. Please also let us know of any additional biomedical interventions or other types of interventions so that you obtain the best advice from us and maximise the effectiveness of your intervention programme.
