ABA Training Day 2, September 2nd 2010

ATT is having an ABA training day instructed by Risca Solomon on Thursday, September 2nd 2010 from 10:00am to 4:00pm. This opportunity is open to families, tutors and volunteers with a small fee to pay.

Strategies for Promoting Communication:

1. Using behaviour analysis and verbal behaviour to identify functions of words and to promote communication.

2. Requesting - the importance of it and how to teach it.

3. Use of sign language with people with autism

4. Speech - strategies which can be used to develop speech and improve articulation.

ABA Training Day 1, June 10th 2010

Brief outline of training day:

1.Understanding Behaviour: Anetcedents, Behaviour, Consequences. Recording Behaviours. Consequences of behaviour and looking at proactive strategies for addressing behaviours.

2. Gaining cooperation: The 7 Steps to Instructional Control and pairing yourself with reinforcement.

3. How to use reinforcement to teach: Discrete Trial Teaching & differential reinforcement.

4. Verbal Behavior: A taster for the next training day.
