We are delighted to attach our 2009 training brochure where you will find full details of our training courses and Annual Seminar. More...
The Seminar will be on the 24th March 2009 at the Gold Room, Eastbourne Winter Gardens. Our Presenters this year will be Dr Gary Mesibov, Director of Division TEACCH in North Carolina and Dr Lorna Wing.
TEACCH (Treatment and Education of Autistic and related Communication of handicapped CHildren) is a structured approach to communication. It consists of, pictures, symbols, objects of reference and the written word and it is designed to lower anxiety allowing individuals to know what is happening throughout their day.
All systems are individually tailored to meet the individual’s specific needs. Some users may only need part of their day structured in this way, where others will need a twenty four hour programme. This communication style is proven to empower individuals to be as informed as their capabilities will allow of what is happening, thus keeping their stress levels to a minimum so that they can cope with their day in a structured manner. Originating from North Carolina, TEACCH is used world wide in the field of Learning Disabilities with proven excellent results.
If you reserve a place on this seminar before the 1st December 2008, you will be charged at the discounted price of £75 plus VAT.We would also like to draw your attention to the new training
