Children diagnosed with autism have many things in common - behavioural patterns, nutritional imbalances and they frequently suffer from immune and intestinal dysfunctions. We treat the imbalances and dysfunctions and use educational intervention to address the behavioural issues. For example, it is well established that a deficiency of essential fatty acids in the blood is linked to difficult behaviour.
In April 2006 we opened a clinic in Edinburgh to enable us to reach out to families affected by autism. We have developed a dual approach involving:
Bio-medical testing and treatment. More...
Education and learning, for the child and the family. More...
We provide an initial consultation tracing the developmental history of the child followed by a series of tests, carried out if necessary by the child’s GP. The tests are assessed by approved laboratories in the NHS, at Universities or privately owned. The outcome of this evaluation is then discussed with the family and dictates the biomedical intervention required to address the imbalance detected.
The dual approach is unique to us and reflects our belief that treatment and education go hand in hand to improve the quality of life for the children and their families.
